Artwork: Story in post cards 14 postcards made in markers
The project "Story in post cards" is the result of a personal study of my grandfather's past on my father's side. I knew my grandfather by the name of Shmaryahu Ronis, but his real name was Sigmund Sonnenschein Ronies. He died when I was too young to remember him. My gradfather didn’t talk much, and my parents and uncles could not provide me answers either. I decided to try and find information myself.
I found the boxes that remained unopened since my grandparents died and discovered treasures: letters written in German and English by Sigmund's mother and sister, documents and hundreds of pictures that helped me put together the whole picture. This research became an illustrated story, in each of them Siggy (Sigmund) tells his parents and his family about his life in Israel.
